The health service is progressive with a reputation state wide and nationally for excellence. The district provides over 700. All types of surgery are performed. 80,000 medical imaging examinations are performed per year. A full medical imaging service is provided and radiologists work across two locations. These services are provided on-site for 24 hours of every day. A $206 million capital development program has been commenced which will increase both hospitals substantially in size and complexity. This will include increased medical imaging staffing and expanded services including medical resonance imaging.

We are currently recruiting two Radiologists for the area health service. The appointee will ensure the proper care of all patients attending the Medical Imaging Department; Promote and maintain optimal standards of radiology within the department; Perform a full range of radiological examinations and reporting sessions as appropriate. The examinations which the radiologist is expected to perform competently and proficiently include all types of radiology, interventional radiology, computed tomography and ultrasound for patients of all ages and conditions. They will also; Participate equally in the radiology on-call roster for the Area Health Service; Participate in junior medical staff, radiographer and nursing staff training and supervision; Be involved in continuing education; Have a commitment to and active involvement in peer review and quality improvement activities; Participate in relevant medical research activities.

Base Salary: As per state award, on scale $118,815 ? 160,523
Medical Indemnity: Fully covered for non-private practice
Superannuation: 9% employer contribution
Allowance (in lieu of Private Practice): Paid as 20% of base salary if no private practice undertaken
Training, Education and Study Leave: 25 calendar days per annum fully paid
After Hours Roster: 1 in 7
Annual Leave: 5 weeks
